![]() All they want to do is continue to serve the rich and corporations at the expense of the poor, the middle class, and our planet. They have nothing – no plan, no policies, no answers, no vision of moving the country forward. They talked about sharing social media posts so more people will see them.Īll this just reinforces a basic truth about the GOP. This week I took part in a Zoom meeting held by the campaign of John Fetterman, who’s running for the Senate in my home state of Pennsylvania. “Democrats are behind on a game we thought we’d mastered.” Not surprisingly, Pfeiffer said that right-wing posts trend more often and get more engagement on Twitter. This doesn’t increase the reach of the original post. Here’s a good suggestion from the book: If you want to highlight something particularly egregious from the Right, take a screenshot of it and then post the screenshot with your comment. In other words, lying, insults, stupidity, and generally acting like an idiot sells in the Republican Party. Pfeiffer noted that “In addition to spreading their message and building their brand, right-wing trolls want to use liberal outrage as proof of their conservative bona fides.” Denying them the engagement they so desperately crave is how we fight back against the politics of ‘owning the libs.’” They want to use your outrage to build their brand and amass political power. “Many of the worst people on the internet wake up every morning eager to hijack your attention. “Think strategically about how you want to allocate it,” he wrote. Pfeiffer calls your attention your greatest weapon. I may slip, but calling Ted Cruz an asshole can be too tempting to pass up sometimes. I know, my targets probably don’t even see my attacks, and they couldn’t care less about what I think.Īlthough Greta Van Susteren actually answered a particularly stupid and childish tweet by me. That’s because I’m as guilty as a lot of people of going after objectional posts and people on Twitter. This is one of those do as I say, not as I do, moments. ![]()
